The Full Leather Enduro is designed specifically for Endurance riding. This saddle is not a lighter version or some adapt ion of an existing saddle. Placing the rider towards the centre on a balancing point minimizing the effort of the rider on a rising trot and maximizing the quality of the horse’s movement.
The saddle is designed and perfected for the competitive rider and still gives you the balanced ride to ensure the dressage seat, confirming the maximum weight distribution on the horse.

General
Our top priority is the care and well being of our horses and their equipment. Every effort is made to fit the right saddle and bridle, and therefore the equipment used for trail is carefully chosen to ensure the horses comfort on long distance rides. All the horses are schooled in basic dressage in the riding arena using the German training system. This ensures that your horse is responsive, well mannered and fun to ride. This training loosens their backs and softens their mouth so the horse is more in balance on trail. All horses are spirited and forward going, some obviously more than others.
Saddles
Using the right saddle for the right horse is a difficult task. Some horses go better in an English saddle, whilst others prefer our well approved endurance saddle by Leon Liversage. So we use both types on trail. There is more information about these two types of saddles below.
Comfort
We do offer seat savers and sheepskins.
Bridles
Almost all of our horses are ridden in a loose ring or double jointed snaffle. Some are a bit stronger and are ridden in a pelham.
Gear
We recommend you wear Jodhpurs and half or full chaps with comfortable riding boots and a light weight riding helmet, preferably with a good circulation. We do have a limited assortment of chaps and helmets at the lodge, but we highly recommend that you bring your own equipment.
